Project 7: Graphics and Advanced Page Layout

In this project, I got to revisit skills I learned as a Graphic Design major in a whole new setting. By utilizing graphic editing software, I created custom images for my web page design. The basic skills of re-sizing images, erasing backgrounds, and creating gradients were familiar to me, but the details of size and page resolution and the relation to the loading speed of web pages was knew information to me.

As far as the advanced page layout was concerned, I found that many of the things I got confused with at the beginning of the class have now become second nature. I learned how to create an horizontal menu bar and how to position my graphics within the proper divs to construct my web page in a way that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

I struggled a little bit with fitting my banner slice with my banner, but thought of a creative way to solve the problem while maintaining the overall look I was going for with the page.
